Completely renovated in 2019! This landmark, three-story building, known as "the Castle", sits on the corner of N Chapel St. and the entrance of the Newark Shopping Center. This is a great location in the center of town and very close to the University of Delaware.
When we purchased the property in late 2017 the building was in disrepair and long overdue for updating. We started renovations in late 2018 and, after about a year, created a new building inside the shell of the old, making the building new again while keeping the charm and character of it's original design.
We removed all of the old plaster, electric and plumbing and gutted the old kitchens and baths and replaced all of the windows. We also added a fire sprinkler system, as well as new gas heating and central air conditioning to all of the units.
This is a very special building that we hope you will enjoy.
There are a total of four apartments offering different choices for students, each unit with their own systems and appliances that include a washer and dryer

The nice living room has some of the original brick and window frame that we used to create a bookshelf.

Apartment two is also on the first floor and has four bedrooms and two full baths.
The kitchen has ample cabinet space and countertops as well as new appliances which include a dishwasher.
The Living Room has upgraded flooring and a ceiling fan.
A private rear deck, washer, dryer and three parking spaces are included.
Unit 3 - 5 bedroom 2 bath RENTED
Apartment three is the second floor unit which has five bedrooms and two full baths.
The large kitchen has all new cabinets, granite countertops and a breakfast bar area that eliminates the need to bring a kitchen table. It also offers all new appliances which include a dishwasher.
